In order to keep strengthening our School and our programs’ position outside Spain, IE Law School travelled last spring around Europe. Brussels was our first stop in the journey for its international environment and its focus on European matters. During her presentation “EU Trade Policy in Times of Crisis”, Salomé Cisnal de Ugarte, counsel at Mayer Brown in Brussels (Belgium) and professor of our International LLM, analyzed together with the participants the measures taken by the EU and the Member States regarding foreign trade policy since the beginning of the economic crisis.

The attendees to this conference arrived from different European countries. Prof. Wehner, lawyer at Lalive and professor of the Executive LLM and International LLM, introduced a topic of growing importance in today’s world: international arbitration. During this session that took place in Zurich (Switzerland), Prof. Wehner explained the subtle line dividing arbitration and mediation and what an international arbitration professional should and should not do.
